Our Story

The history of Chas Cole Cellars begins in 1857 at Geelong, the firm of Charles Cole and Company Wine and Spirit Merchants, built a reputation as a renowned fine wine merchant. Trading for more than 100 years, the operation has evolved and moved several times around Geelong, trading from 1901 until early 1970’s at the iconic bluestone building that once occupied the corner of Gheringhap and Little Malop Streets.

Chas Cole Cellars established in Belmont in 1973 and traded for several decades until more recently, the local wine institution was purchased by the Anderson Family of Geelong and relocated to fabulous new premises in Moorabool Street, South Geelong, opposite the famous AFL Geelong Cats football stadium, Chas Cole Cellars being synonymous with Geelong City and the Cats.

Chas Cole Cellars is a Geelong Institution, known for fine wines, craft beer and Spirits with great service and informative wine advice from all our trained professional staff. Our Suppliers and the vineyards they represent respect our fine wine heritage and work with our wine buyers to ensure the best wine products.
